The European Law Students’ Association consists of three levels: the International Board, the National Boards in 42 member countries and more than 200 local groups. ELSA is led by and for law students on all of these levels. 

The International Board and the National Boards coordinate the work of the local groups and support national and international networking. More than 200 local groups make up the foundation of the organization: they are the ones who organize events for their local members and for the entire network. Membership in a local group doesn’t just open the door to the local group for you, but to the entire ELSA network. 

In Switzerland, the local groups count around 3,000 ELSA members, who elect the local group boards. These local groups are, in turn, members of ELSA Switzerland and elect its board.
